SALARY : R468 459 per annum

REQUIREMENTS : Minimum instructional qualification: National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (T; S or N stream), or registration as an Engineering Technician in terms of the Engineering Profession of South Africa Act (Act forty six of 2000). Experience: Appropriate experience after qualification on optical scientific equipment repairs, specially surgical and laboratory microscopes. Appropriate trip with the following equipment: light sources, laser, ENT and various sorts of scopes (gastro-, colono-, cysto and brongioscopes, etc. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge of health technology ideas and Excellent ability to do fault finding on scientific equipment. Computer literacy (i.e. MS Word, Excel). Ability to collect technical specifications for medical tools and aid with the soft process.
DUTIES : Carry out superior maintenance, repairs, calibration, modifications and installations of clinical (Optical) tools and instruct junior technicians and users on equipment. Ensuring that the gear meets prison and security equirements of the producers and statutory bodies. Liaise with hospital and non-public zone body of workers and reports to the Head of Clinical engineering. Perform all administrative functions as required by way of the Clinical Engineering Department, managers and fitness Technology prescripts while ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1993.
