REQUIREMENTS : An NQF 4 (Grade 12 / ABET / AET stage 3) qualification or equal as diagnosed by way of SAQA. Valid SAPS Firearm Competency Certificate (handgun/rifle/shotgun). DUTIES : Assist with the protection of the nature reserve and its herbal resources. Conduct law enforcement operations / applications (nature conservation patrols). Inspect and restore the boundary fence. Infrastructure maintenance. Manage visitors’ behaviour and moves in reserves. Report non-compliance. Assist with fire management services. Assist with access control. Assist with monitoring of ecological processes, habitats and biodiversity in nature reserves which consist of gathering organic and ecological data. Identify and habits ecological rehabilitation programmes such as soil erosion controls, alien plant life elimination and bush encroachment programmes. Assist Wildlife Management in different areas and communities. Conduct conservation management programmes (water provision and fire administration programmes). Assist with game monitoring and administration programmes.
