REQUIREMENTS : An suitable NQF stage four (Grade 12). Recognized FET Certificate/ Diploma (a degree in Child and Youth Care would be an brought advantage). A minimum of 7 years’ journey in Child and Youth Care work after acquiring the required qualification. Current proof of registration with South African Council for Social Services Professionals (SACSSP) (proof of registration submitted when shortlisted). A legitimate driver’s license. Proof of Current registration with the SACSSP council as Child and Youth Care worker. Experience in Secure Care will be delivered advantage. Competencies: Ability to hold confidentiality. Good communication skills. Good time keeping. Ability to work as a team. Problem fixing skills. Planning and organizing skills. Knowledge of applicable legislations, insurance policies and methods in Child and formative years Care. Interpersonal and Leadership skills. Able to do shift work.
DUTIES : Supervise Child & Youth Care Workers. Manage work overall performance development of supervisee. Oversee the admission and associated activities of young people and early life to the care facility. Oversee the get admission to of children/ adolescence to scientific services. Oversee the implementation of deliberate activities, residential developmental and therapeutic programmes. Oversee simple life space work. Undertake inspections during a shift and report on incidents and challenges identified. Perform administrative work applicable to the job. Oversee the completion of day by day registers e.g log books, medicine registers, incident reports etc. Ensure the attendance registers are signed and saved up to date. Perform all the administration functions required via the job.
