Position Overview:
Transnet Engineering is looking for two skilled spray painters to join our team on a fixed-term contract. You will be responsible for preparing, priming, and painting locomotive carbodies, ensuring that all work meets client specifications and high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Masking locomotives and preparing them for final paint
- Sealing all holes and cracks to achieve a smooth finish
- Applying auto coat to underframes and locomotive interiors
- General painting using rollers, hand brushes, and spray painting techniques
- Maintaining general housekeeping to ensure a safe working environment
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Artisan with a Red Seal certification in Spray Painting
- Minimum of 1-year experience as a spray painter
Required Competencies:
- Knowledge: Understanding of the manufacturing environment, safe working procedures, and standard operating protocols
- Skills: Effective communication, product knowledge, planning, organizing, and time management
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, good judgment, SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) awareness, and trustworthiness
