Job Description
The Coffee Importers and Roasters Organisation (CIRO) is a true coffee emporium offering expert services in sourcing, roasting, blending, packaging, training, equipment, technical support, and distribution. The Coffee Squad will champion coffee quality at customer premises, performing operator training, coffee assessments, and basic maintenance for selected CIRO customers. This role aims to improve in-store visibility, maintain consistent coffee quality, and ensure maximum machine uptime to increase sales throughput. The position is based in Bryanston.
Key Responsibilities
- Training and Relationship Building:
- Conduct value-added training visits and build credible coffee relationships.
- Inform establishment management of any coffee product-related issues, training needs, or equipment repairs.
- Ensure customers agree to the service invoice before training begins.
- Maintain and promote the use of CIRO products.
- Build strong business relations to retain and increase volume throughput.
- Customer Evaluation and Documentation:
- Complete CIRO CORE Evaluation, Training Register, and ESO documentation.
- Ensure management of the establishment signs off on evaluations, job cards, and invoices.
- Submit comprehensive online documents as per the standards set by Key Accounts, Training, and the Customer.
- Escalate findings to CIRO management and inform customers of any irregularities.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure in-cup quality of coffee meets agreed standards.
- Perform freshness tests, taste testing, grammage testing, and flowability checks.
- Calibrate and program equipment to ensure high-quality coffee production.
- Assess staff procedures for making coffee and cleaning equipment.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards defined by customer HQ and report irregularities.
- Preventative Maintenance:
- Perform basic preventative maintenance as per service intervals defined within SLA or Coffee Squad Agreement.
- Complete maintenance activities thoroughly and obtain sign-off from establishment management.
- Log repair calls with the technical department for major repairs.
- Inform customers of any malicious damage.
- Keep business informed of potential leads and manage spares and tools.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience:
- Experience in training and customer interaction.
- Understanding of coffee extraction through various equipment.
- Technical fault finding, service, and repair experience.
- Qualifications:
- Completed Matric certificate.
- Technical qualifications in coffee equipment.
- Coffee qualification.
- Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with a minimum of 2 years driving experience.
- Availability to travel and stay overnight when necessary.
- Interest in the hospitality industry.
