Gauteng Education Department Extends 2025 School Placement Deadline

The Gauteng Education Department has also stay, the online admissions for Grades 1 and 8 expires on January 30 2025, much to the relief of thousands of parents scrambling for School Placement for their children.

Hey there, Gauteng parents! Good news: the Education Department has also announced that June 2024 School Placement deadline for Grades 1 and 8 has now been shifted to 30 January 2025 depending on online placements.

This extension hope to assist a few thousands of parents who are yet to secure school places for their children.

Before, the deadline was set much earlier, making considerable amounts of stress among various families.

However, with this new DEADLINE, there is time to work out all that has been left undone in the previous periods.

The department has received over 344 thousand applications to join the 2025 academic year.

Of these, over 19,000 were described as incomplete.

This extension provides an opportunity to finalize those applications.

To this end, the department anticipates to establish about 625 mobile units so that new schools may be opened in such areas as Lawley, Theresa Park, Eastvale, and Naturena, in an effort to reduce overcrowding.

This initiative is the first in a series of 30 school constructions over the three ensuing fiscal years.

Those who did not apply in the first instance should do so online before 30 January 2025.

Please recall that you can choose only one school and your placement at this school is fixed.

The documents can however be tendered when schools re open in the January.

By this extension, many are relieved that more children will get a chances to get places in Gauteng schools.
