Ivanplats, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanized state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”.
The company is currently seeking qualified candidates for various positions:
- Plant Engineer (Ref: IVP-PL-01): Requires an Electrical/Mechanical Engineering degree, GCC Mines and Works, and a valid South African Driving License. Candidates should have at least 10 years’ experience in a mining environment as a GCC Mining Engineer.
- Artisan, Diesel Mechanic (X16) (Ref: IVP-ENG-2432): Requires a Grade 12 certificate, NQF 4 Relevant Trade Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and a Driver’s License. A minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience in a mining environment is required.
- Artisan, Boilermaker (X4) (Ref: IVP-ENG-2426): Requires an NQF 4 Relevant Trade Certificate, with a Coded Welder certification being advantageous. Candidates should have a minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience in a mining environment.
- Artisan, Rigger (X2) (Ref: IVP-ENG-2429): Requires a Grade 12 or NQF Level 4, Relevant Trade Certificate, and a valid Code EB (08) Driver’s license. Candidates should have 4 years’ experience as a Rigger.
- Drill Rig Specialist: Requires a Grade 12 certificate and a License to operate Drill Rig [282 and/or M2C]. Candidates should have 3-5 years’ relevant experience in operating a Drill Rig.
- General Worker: Requires a Grade 12 certificate. Prior experience or knowledge in construction-related jobs is preferred.
Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South Africans (HDSA) from local communities surrounding the Platreef mine and women. Applications are only open to South African Citizens and Permanent RSA Residents. Ivanplats will not consider applications received after the closing date.
