Job Description

The Agricultural Research Council – Grain Crops (ARC-GC) is looking for skilled and experienced individuals to join our new project funded by the National Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development. Key Responsibilities

Purchase Requisition Processing: Process purchase requisitions and create orders for suppliers.
Supplier Liaison: Obtain quotations, liaise with suppliers, and ensure orders are placed and followed up.
Supply Chain Administration: Perform diverse administrative functions related to supply chain management.
Financial Service Quality: Ensure ordered items are obtained at the best prices and provide accurate information to management.
Asset Management: Ensure optimal asset management and efficient stock control.
Client Satisfaction: Maintain high levels of client satisfaction and compliance with safety regulations.
Support Research Functions: Actively support research functions through sourcing and evaluating suppliers.
Database Management: Manage the campus supplier database and ensure internal control compliance.

Job Requirements

Qualifications: National Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent qualification.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Supply Chain Management or a similar environment.
Professional Registration: Registration with the Association of Accounting Technicians is advantageous.
Legislative Knowledge: Understanding of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite and exposure to the AX System.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, report writing, and organizational skills.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license.
