Media24, a leading South African publisher, is offering a 12-month paid Publishing Internship in Cape Town through its division, Jonathan Ball Publishers. This exciting opportunity is perfect for recent graduates with a strong interest in publishing.
As a Publishing Intern, you’ll shadow experienced professionals, participate in team projects, and gain invaluable insight into the publishing world. Starting mid-February 2025, you’ll assist with tasks such as book project management, manuscript formatting, catalog compilation, and proofreading audio and e-books. You’ll also review submissions and write reader’s reports, contributing to real publishing projects.
Requirements:
- A tertiary qualification in publishing, journalism, languages, or translation (Afrikaans major preferred).
- Strong skills in English and Afrikaans communication, writing, editing, organization, and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to meet deadlines with accuracy.
- A genuine passion for books and publishing.
Applicants must be South African citizens available to work in Cape Town from February 2025 to January 2026. Remote work is not available.
