Position Purpose:

Broll Property Group is seeking a Senior Handyman for the Musgrave Centre to manage building maintenance operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing preventive maintenance, installing new equipment, and responding to the maintenance needs of different departments.

Key Responsibilities For Senior Handyman

1. Building Maintenance:
   • Inspect buildings regularly to identify and address maintenance needs.
   • Respond promptly to tenant and departmental maintenance requests.
   • Perform routine checks on doors, lighting, plumbing, and equipment such as air-conditioning and fire systems.
   • Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
2. Tenant Installations:
   • Perform quality control on tenant installations and ensure premises are in satisfactory condition before tenant occupancy.
   • Assist with tenant move-ins and any necessary alterations or repairs.
3. Tenant Relations:
   • Maintain regular contact with tenants, addressing their concerns promptly.
   • Report tenant complaints and urgent matters to the building supervisor.
4. Record Keeping:
   • Track and document repair and maintenance activities.
   • Complete work orders, material lists, and maintenance records accurately.
5. Team Coordination:
   • Support area staff and communicate effectively with management about ongoing activities.
   • Attend meetings and collaborate with various departments.
6. Additional Duties:
   • Maintain cleanliness and security of work areas and grounds.
   • Assist with special projects as needed and be familiar with emergency protocols.

Performance Measurements:

• Adherence to maintenance schedules and safety regulations.
• Accuracy of maintenance records and logs.
• Proper functioning and upkeep of equipment.
• Effective communication and coordination with staff and management.

Qualifications:

• Education: Matric with additional training in maintenance and repair procedures.
• Experience: Minimum of two years in a related maintenance role.
• Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance functions and safety protocols.
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail and solid hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
