Job Description

The Agricultural Research Council is looking for a Temporary Receptionist to manage our general switchboard and administrative tasks for a six-month fixed-term contract in Roodeplaat, South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

• Switchboard Management: Manage the general switchboard, telephone, and intercom systems.
• Public Assistance: Assist the public and answer enquiries in a friendly and accurate manner.
• Call Handling: Answer the switchboard, transfer calls, and take messages.
• Visitor Reception: Receive and assist visitors.
• Package Management: Inform personnel of package/other deliveries.
• Venue Bookings: Assist with the management of venue bookings.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records.
• Support Services: Provide general support services to the Public Relations office as needed.

Job Requirements

• Education: A Grade 12 certificate/Matric is required. Any relevant tertiary qualification will be an added advantage.
• Experience: 1-2 years experience as a receptionist or in a related field.
• Skills:
  • Good customer service.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and work systematically.
  • Good communication skills (verbal & written).
