Job Description

Join the Hollywoodbets Purple Team, a major player in the gambling and casino industry, and become part of South Africa’s biggest success stories. We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to manage cashbook capturing and reconciliations, and assist Financial Accountants as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Metrics:
  • Process weekly cash book transactions and ensure accuracy.
  • Review monthly petty cash recons.
  • Ensure accurate allocation in general ledgers and correct VAT accounting.
  • Meet deadlines for cashbook clerks, creditors, and debtors for management account preparation.
  • Capture routine journal entries and prepare performance measures.
  • Prepare and review high-risk and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist in trial balance preparation and VAT reconciliations.
  • Support audit requests and handle ad-hoc tasks.
• People:
  • Embody HW values and support team efforts.
• Compliance, Risk, and Quality:
  • Attend training sessions.
  • Maintain organized financial records.
  • Produce high-quality, logical, and easy-to-follow financial documents.
  • Manage relationships with auditors and other parties.
• Other:
  • Assist with company projects and year-end audit files.
  • Identify and mitigate accounting-related risks.
  • Collaborate with Internal audit and Treasury teams.
  • Innovate and automate bookkeeping functions.

Requirements:

• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Pastel Evolution or similar accounting software (preferred).
  • Relevant Degree/Diploma (completed or in progress).
• Competencies:
  • Strong analytical, computer, and creative skills.
  • Accountability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Effective planning and organization.
